Who is it for?
Individuals who as part of their role will be required to take air samples from asbestos contaminated environments and conduct the 4 stage clearance procedure.

Aims:
To provide theoretical and practical knowledge in the techniques of air sampling and clearance testing along with the provisions for required for certification for reoccupation.

Course Content:
This 'P' module provides theoretical and practical knowledge in the techniques of air sampling and analysis of results to enable 4 stage clearance certificates to be issued. The module is at a proficiency level which aims to provide the candidate with the practical knowledge and skills to be able to carry out the stated work and includes the following elements:

Assessment:
Individuals will undertake a practical assessment carried out by an independent assessor. As part of this, candidates must demonstrate their ability to correctly take air samples (personal and static) and perform clearance tests.

Examination A 30 question multi-choice exam paper (45mins) will be undertaken on the final day of the course. In addition, a practical assessment will be undertaken on a one to one basis with the examiner. This exam will be independently invigilated by BOHS and is subject to a separate BOHS exam fee.

Prior to training candidates should be familiar with 'Asbestos: The analysts' guide for sampling, analysis and clearance procedures (HSG 248).
