Dispute Avoidance, Managing Disputes and Adjudication Course

Who is it for?

Applicable to all companies who actively trade in the construction industry undertaking site based activities particularly under either standard or bespoke contracts for Local Authorities and Contractors.

Aims

To enable delegates to understand the importance of relevant records and find effective ways of communicating and managing issues to avoid disputes. If a dispute arises imparting the skills to manage a difficult and stressful situation and finally explaining the process of Adjudication as a cost effective means of formal dispute resolution.

Content

The modules covered are: establishing relevant protective site records; effective communication; issuing notification of a dispute and managing the process; what to do if you receive notification from an aggrieved party; adjudication process - statutory and standard contract guidance; adjudication process in practice.

Additional Information

The course will be held as a hands on workshop with full interaction expected from the delegates in terms of their personal experiences in disputes (good and bad). Course materials will be provided and a certificate of attendance issued.
