The modules covered are: key duties of the 'Employer; health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974; management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999; hot topics’ - Health surveillance, driving at work, selection and management of contractors and suppliers; personal duties and liability, What gives rise to personal liability?, Directors/Senior Managers offences; HSE Policy, Case Law, The role of Directors and Senior Managers; Turnball report, Institute of Directors Guidance - Leading Health & safety at Work; Allocating responsibilities, What should the policy contain?, Individual or collective responsibility; The pitfalls, Workshop on drafting /reviewing a policy, Risk assessment, How to conduct a risk assessment; who should conduct a risk assessment?, Measuring performance, Reviewing, monitoring and auditing; workshop - indentify your top 5 areas to be audited, Motivating and discipline.
