ALFA delivers positive feedback

Average rating of all operatives reports good evidence of competency

Today ARCA is delighted to announce that over 2,000 ratings have been made in ALFA, these ratings are assessments of the performance of agency asbestos removal operatives.

Currently the average ratings of all agency operatives is 4.95(ii), on a scale of 1 to 6, with 4 meaning ‘adequate evidence of competency’ and 5 meaning ‘substantial evidence of competency.’

“This is really positive, ALFA, the Asbestos Labour Feedback App, is having the effect we hoped for,” commented Steve Sadley, Chief Executive of ARCA. “Already, members are reporting a noticeable improvement in the performance of agency operatives they have had on site.”

“The number of operative placements made in ALFA continues to increase, today there are 187 agency operatives on site working for ARCA member contractors.”

Since the launch of ALFA on 1st September 2020, over 870 agency operatives have registered on the App, so they can be assigned to a job and have their performance rated within ALFA.

Already 47% of ARCA member contractors, who use ARCA Labour Supply Members, are rating operatives’ performance. These ratings provide some reassurance to contractors of operatives’ competency before arriving on site. For example, there are a number of operatives with a 5 star overall performance rating (substantial evidence of competency) after receiving ratings from 4 different contractors (representing independent evidence from multiple sources).

“We will continue to support the App, so providing a valuable tool for all parties involved, who are committed to improving professionalism and standards in our industry,” concluded Steve Sadley.
