Asbestos Supervisor

ECT Environmental Ltd are looking for experienced asbestos removal supervisors & operatives.

The Asbestos Removal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing asbestos removal projects to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current legislation, company procedures, and client requirements. The role involves supervising site operatives, maintaining high health and safety standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise asbestos removal operatives on site and ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved plans of Work and risk assessments.

• Conduct daily site briefings and toolbox talks.

• Monitor work progress and maintain productivity while ensuring strict compliance with safety requirements.

• Coordinate site activities with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

   

Health, Safety and Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with Control of Asbestos Regulations, HSE guidance, and company procedures.

• Maintain site documentation including Plans of Work, risk assessments, method statements, and air monitoring records.

• Conduct regular inspections of enclosures, decontamination units, equipment, and work areas.

• Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances.

• Ensure correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protective equipment (RPE).

Team Management

• Lead, motivate, and support asbestos removal operatives.

• Monitor employee performance and provide on-site training and guidance.

• Ensure all team members hold the required training and certification for their duties.

• Promote a positive safety culture and high standards of workmanship.

• Complete site reports, timesheets, and project records accurately and promptly.

Training Requirements

• Valid Asbestos Removal Supervisor training certification.

• Minimum 2 years' experience supervising licensed asbestos removal projects.

• Thorough knowledge of asbestos legislation, HSE guidance, and industry best practices.

• Strong understanding of enclosure construction, decontamination procedures, and waste handling requirements.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

• Ability to interpret Plans of Work, risk assessments, and technical documentation.

• Full UK driving licence.

• SSSTS or SMSTS certification.

• First Aid at Work
