As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Operations Manager to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our projects nationwide.

 

The Role

This is a key operational leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of asbestos removal projects across multiple sites throughout the UK. Acting as a central point of support for site teams, office staff, and clients, the successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and in full compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards. The Technical Operations Manager will provide technical guidance, operational oversight, and strategic support while driving continuous improvement across all aspects of project delivery.

 

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of asbestos removal projects across multiple sites.

  • Coordinate labour, equipment, transport, and subcontractor activities to ensure efficient project delivery.

  • Monitor project progress, resolve operational challenges, and maintain productivity targets.

  • Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to office staff, site teams, and Tier 1 clients.

  • Ensure effective resource planning and allocation across all active projects.

 

Project Management

  • Oversee project planning, mobilisation, execution, and successful completion of works.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

  • Review and maintain project documentation including Plans of Work, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and progress reports.

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, analysts, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support commercial objectives through effective project monitoring and performance management.

 

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSE guidance, and all relevant UK legislation.

  • Promote and maintain a positive health, safety, environmental, and quality culture throughout the business.

  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews, implementing corrective actions where required.

  • Support investigations relating to incidents, near misses, and non-conformances.

  • Maintain operational standards in line with company procedures and industry best practice.

 

Team Leadership & Support

  • Act as a trusted point of support for site operatives, supervisors, office personnel, and clients.

  • Mentor, coach, and develop operational teams, identifying training and competency requirements.

  • Foster strong communication and collaboration between site and office functions.

  • Assist senior management with operational planning, reporting, and business improvement initiatives.

  • Drive accountability, professionalism, and high-performance standards throughout the workforce.

     

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and project review meetings as required.

  • Ensure exceptional levels of customer service and client satisfaction.

  • Represent Furn Contracts Ltd professionally, protecting and enhancing the company's reputation for quality, compliance, and reliability.

     

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in asbestos removal operations and project management within the UK asbestos industry.

  • Strong working knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSE guidance, and industry best practice.

  • Demonstrable experience leading operational teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

 

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • BOHS P402, P403, P404 or equivalent asbestos-related qualifications.

  • SMSTS, IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent health and safety qualification.

  • Experience using project management and operational reporting systems.

  • Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and large-scale commercial projects.

  • Competitive salary of �45,000 � �60,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
