Location: Office-based (Northwest) with travel to sites as required

Emchia Asbestos Solutions Ltd is a licensed asbestos removal contractor with a strong reputation for compliance, safety, and delivering high-quality projects. As we expand our operations across the Northwest, we are looking for a HSEQ Manager to provide essential HSEQ support to our busy project teams.

Role Purpose
To lead and manage all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) functions across the business, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, company procedures / policies and IT systems. This role is primarily office-based but includes travel to sites and suppliers using a company vehicle.

Job Requirements

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSEQ management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to maintain safe working environments.
  • Organise training, offer guidance and support to operational teams to embed a positive safety culture.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, producing clear reports and corrective action plans.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Lead ISO certification activities and maintain company accreditations.
  • Complete PQQ assessments for new and existing clients
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and maintain matrix of PQQ information including insurances and HSEQ information
  • Manage all personnel training and competencies including TNA assessments
  • Monitor and report on HSEQ performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Help ensure the office environment remains safe, organised, and compliant
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar HSEQ management role within the asbestos removal, construction, or environmental services industry (construction/asbestos background desirable but not essential)
  • Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (desirable)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Competent IT skills (Excel, email, stock systems)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of plant, tools, and asbestos equipment (desirable), training provided if not.
