RSPH Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Removal of Hazardous Waste (Construction) -
Licensed Asbestos

With ARCA asbestos removal operatives can gain a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Removal of Hazardous Waste (Construction) - Licensed Asbestos, and thereby a CSCS card, in the quickest and easiest way.

Which method of gaining an NVQ is best for an operative?

It really is down to how much experience the operative has in the role. There are two options, the On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) and Experiences Candidate Assessment Route (ECAR).

For example, an asbestos removal operative with three years’ or more experience working on-site should have the skills and confidence necessary to gain an NVQ in just one day of practical assessment, that is via the ECAR route.

ARCA can support you in this decision, as we are here to help operatives get qualified.

Take the first step and Talk to ARCA on live chat or call 01283 505777

OSAT is the option advised for operatives who have more than a years’ experience, but less than three years’ experience, working in the role.

Following an initial induction, the operative will be assessed following the five standards units (containing practical and theory elements) for this NVQ.

Candidates need to show they can do the job and explain how to do the job. Candidates have been able to complete their assessments in 2 days, that’s with the right sites and being able to prove their knowledge, understanding and skills.

On successful completion ARCA can streamline the operative’s application for a blue skilled worker’s CSCS card. All the operative needs to do is pass a CITB HS&E touch screen test.

The ECAR route to gaining an NVQ qualification is recommended for experienced asbestos removal operatives. This is because operatives with three years’ or more experience working on-site should have the skills and confidence to gain an NVQ in just one day of practical assessment.

Over the one day at an ARCA centre the operative will need to demonstrate practical skills across all the requirements within the Level 2 NVQ Diploma standard.

On successful completion ARCA can streamline the operative’s application for a blue skilled worker’s CSCS card. All the operative needs to do is pass a CITB HS&E (operative) touch screen test.

Further details and fees are available in the ARCA NVQ Leaflet in the download section

A candidate can apply for a temporary Red CSCS card while working towards achieving this Level 2 NVQ.

On the successful completion of an NVQ ARCA can streamline the candidate’s Blue CSCS Card application all the candidate needs to do is pass a CITB HS&E (specialist/ supervisory) touch screen test.
